I decided it was time to come back to this blog--something I've neglected for awhile--but thanks to New Years' Resolutions, we're BACK! This time around though I'm doing it different. This blog will not be for me so much but be for others trying to reach their goals. I'm thinking about my sisters actually! I have one doing the Mrs. Idaho pageant, and two that just had babies (one of which has a trip to Puerto Rico coming up!).
My plan is to post a new workout daily (at least Mon-Fri). These workouts will likely only take about 30 minutes to complete and will hopefully require minimal equipment. I want almost all to be doable in the comfort of your home because I know not everyone has a gym readily available or the time to get their regularly.
So today, I ask you, what is your goal for 2013? Is it to lose weight? get sculpted? gain endurance? build some muscle? get back into pre-baby jeans? look hot for summer? gain confidence?
How are you going to get there? Work out 3-5 days a week? diet? nothing? pray for a miracle?!
For me, Jon and I just signed up for a Warrior Dash in April. I know I'm probably strong enough for the obstacles, but can't run worth a darn! So I'm shooting for endurance this year!
What will you need? My life is music based, so find music that moves you. I like pop music with a great beat (think Ke$ha, Britney, Beyonce . . .). Go for at least a 30 minute playlists-first and last songs being warmup and cooldown. Be excited for you music because that may help you want to sweat more! And get ready. We start tomorrow!

I am a Warrior!
Warrior Dash . . . DONE! I blogged all about it in my normal blog here! Check it out! I am proud!
Stats on the race. According to my watch, we did the race in 45 minutes. According to our chips, we did it in 56 minutes. I'm struggling which one to believe. Either way, we were in the top half! Yeah, that means we are awesome! I totally want to do it again! There are 2 more in Texas and it's crazy tempting to just sign up and do them again! I am so blessed to have a supportive hubby who lets me do these crazy things, and it meant the world to me to have him come and support me on this race! Love him!

Warrior Dash: training
I've been "training" which means I've gone running 3 whole times now! Wow!
2nd attempt: 3.2 miles in 37 minutes (yeah, huge improvement!)
3rd attempt: 3.2 miles in 41 minutes (wait?! Why am I getting worse?!)
Today was TERRIBLE! I could not keep my breath and my heart-rate was out of control! Sad. Hoping to run at least 2 more times this week. I'm just annoyed that I can kick people's BEHINDS in my spin class, but can't run a mile without feeling like I'm having a heart attack! Ahhh!

Warrior Dash
I was looking over my last post and realized I never updated. Huh. Maybe I'll do that soon. I LOVE to train for stuff. This year, I'm doing the Warrior Dash! I'm seriously stoked about it! I'm signed up with my friend Tiffany Morgan, and we are hoping to get a few more ladies to join us. I'm scared about the run, and stoked about the obstacles! Now I just need to practice my army crawl and hope my rock climbing skills from high school/college haven't left me!
Today:
3.1 miles ran in 42 minutes
Hoping to cut that time CLEAR down. The race is March 17th. I have about 6 weeks to run WAY faster! Wish me luck! I WILL be posting pictures on this race!

Insanity
It's been 9 weeks since baby boy Deckland was born and I decided it was high time I start kicking my butt back in shape. I started teaching Saturday and have 3 days a week that I teach, but I wanted to do more, without bringing my new baby to the gym more than needed. Here's where Insanity comes in. Generally it's a 6 day a week routine, but I figure teaching 2 spin classes and 1 lifting class a week, I could skip those days!
Here are my starting stats:
Oct 31, 2011
Weight: 133
Waist: 29.5
Hips: 36
Bum: 38.5
Left thigh: 23
Right thigh: 23
Left Calve: 14.5
Right Calve: 14.5
Monday I did my first Fit Test. Holy cow that was harder than I expected, and I was sore the next day! Here is the week's workouts:
Monday: Fit Test--Time: 30 min--220 Calories
Tuesday: Spin--Time: 60 min--600 Calories
Bootcamp--Time: 60 min--500 Calories
Wednesday: Body Works--Time: 60 min--350 Calories
Thursday: Plyo Cardio Circuit--Time: 45 min--330 Calories
Friday: Cardio Power and Resistance--Time: 45 min--350 Calories
Tomorrow I teach spin, and then Sunday I'll take off and start the program again on Monday! I'm kind of torn on if I really like it or not. It's hard but not exactly what I expected. I'm intrigued to get through all the videos, and give it a few more weeks to see if I'm getting any results. Here's to hoping!

What to do?
The registration for the 2011 MS 150 opens up on Wednesday and I'm at a complete loss of what to do. I would LOVE to do it again. I really would. It was so challenging yet rewarding even though I really hated it multiple times during the whole event. My problem is, we want to get pregnant again. So, if I do get pregnant, I wouldn't really be wanting to ride that far. If I don't get pregnant, I'll be super mad that I missed out on doing it. It's not an event to sign up for last minute either thanks to the money you HAVE to raise (oh yeah, and registration closes after so many people sign up). It really did take me 5 months to raise the dough this year. I already have a team I would ride with again too. Ugh! I just don't know. There are other MS rides throughout the summer also, that I guess I could join in on depending on what happens. I hate putting my life on hold on the chances that something may or may not happen.

Race for the Cure
For years, I've had the goal of running in the Race for the Cure. Thanks to the motivation of Marnie and Monika in the branch--this year I actually did it! The event is crazy! This year there were about 35,000 people who signed up. Some for the family fun walk, the competitive run, the non-competitive run (that was me!) and then the rest to walk (Marnie and Monika!). Most participants were there in honor of someone. We were there for Sister Walker from the Branch.
For me, the race was slow, but the crowd was so crazy, I don't think I could have run much faster! It wasn't a bad route at all, only a 5k, and there were drinks and bathrooms at every mile. At a couple of points of the run we crossed paths with the competitive runners, and then near the end we passed all the walkers. The finish line was nothing amazing for us regular folk, but they had a survivor lane lined with cheering people that was great to watch!
I met up with Bret (Marnie's hubby) at the end of my race and we backtracked up the path to meet up with Marn and Monika and walk the last bit with them. It was cool to once again be surrounded by people doing something for a great cause! This disease has impacted so many peoples lives, and I loved being involved with something to help out!
I'll be honest, I'm totally hooked on these races/rides! Hmm . . . what should I do next?
